Crystal Palace

Aaron Wan Bissaka entered the Crystal Palace Football Club academy at the age of 11. Due to the injury crisis that Palace went through in February 2018, Wan-Bissaka made his first team debut on 25 February 2018 in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur. On 30 April 2019 he was named Crystal Palace’s player of the year for his performance in the season.

Manchester United

On June 29, 2019, he reached an agreement with Manchester United and signed with the club for 50 million pounds. He made his debut for the Red Devils on August 11 in a 4-0 win over Chelsea FC, playing the entire game.

In his second season, he scored his first goal in his 50th game for the club. It was in a 4-1 win at Newcastle United FC. Coinciding with the last match of the campaign, the final of the UEFA Europa League, he reached one hundred games with Manchester United.

National team career

Aaron Wan Bissaka seems determined to be more of a protagonist outside than on the field. The United star once again placed himself at the center of controversy after filming friends inhaling nitrous oxide from red balloons. The player published the images of him on his Snapchat account.

Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka has placed himself at the center of a “hippy crack” storm after filming himself in a hotel room with friends inhaling from balloons. The star, who earns more than 100,000 Euros a week, can be seen sitting on a sofa with a man clutching a bottle of Smartwhip, which contains nitrous oxide.

In the footage, Wan-Bissaka holds a red balloon and sings while the stranger sucks on another with the cylinder in hand. British media sources insisted that there were no images showing Wan-Bissaka inhaling from the balloon but the scandal is there. He sent the videos to friends of his from the 9,000 euros-plus-a-night suite at the five-star Grosvenor House Suites in Mayfair, west London, last month. The footage also showed the 23-year-old and at least three other people being served lunch by a private butler in the hotel’s Hyde Park suite.

They can also be seen getting out of a chauffeured car holding the suspicious balloons and laughing. “Forget about that red balloon, it will fall like a lead balloon with the club,” a source told this newspaper.

The party at the hotel took place on November 13, days after United’s 2-0 loss to rival City and a week before United’s 4-1 loss to Watford.

Inhalation of nitrous oxide, nicknamed hippie crack, carries a risk of heart attacks and brain damage. It has been linked to at least 36 deaths. Also known as laughing gas, it is used for dental treatments but is commonly abused at parties.

It is not the first time that Aaron Wan Bissaka has been involved in a scandal. Last September, the Manchester United right back pleaded guilty in a short hearing before Manchester Magistrates’ Court. The reason was none other than driving without a license or insurance, as reported by the English media last Wednesday.
